Digital Learning Lab,
London College of Fashion
The Digital Learning Lab is an interdisciplinary space within the London College of Fashion for students and staff focused on the areas of e-textiles, creative coding, physical computing, 3D printing, and mixed and virtual reality, combined with traditional tools and techniques. The focus is at the intersection of traditional and digital practice for design, making and ideation within the fashion context. Alongside residencies from UAL Futures and the Digital Anthropology Lab, workshops and seminars are offered, together with Maker Days and Assisted Open Access to providing assistance and a workspace for project development. Furthermore, the community within the interdisciplinary space explores new ways of working, contributes to pedagogic innovation and explores future forms and methods of output.

The New School,
Parsons School of Design
The Parsons School of Design, established in 1896, within The New School in New York offers undergraduate and graduate programmes by focusing on training, interdisciplinary inquiry and practice-based collaborative learning. The integrative studios, seminars and projects allow learners to explore tools and techniques across the creative spectrum to develop new insights and capacities together with learners from different degree programmes. Furthermore, the faculty members of the institution represent a broad range of experience and expertise, along with other industry leaders share their experience, insights and contacts, allowing the learners to get in touch with the industry early on. An example relating to fashion-tech design is the new Master of Fine Arts programme in Textiles at Parsons School of Design, launched in Fall 2018, aims to prepare creative graduates able to work within the broad range of textile applications, from fashion and wearable tech, auto and aerospace industries, to healthcare, interiors and architecture. Furthermore, it enables learners to explore the dynamics of textiles, by dissolving the boundaries between technology and craft.

University of Southern Denmark
The University of Southern Denmark, founded in 1966, has five faculties between different campuses in Denmark. With more than 100 study programmes, their focus is on the fields of humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, health sciences and engineering. Within their IT Product Design programme, students with multicultural and multidisciplinary backgrounds develop competences in designing products and services related to the human body. By exploring radical new materials and increased development of wearable devices, the boundaries between the human body and technology are explored. Furthermore, the institution is involved with different research projects, such as Enhancing Silence developing wearable sensory artefacts.
A part of the university is the SDU Maker Lab, a shared prototyping space, where together with the Body Bio Soft Lab students and entrepreneurs can access electronics work stations, vacuum forming, 3D printing, laser cutting, and a wood workshop. The aim is to help those interested to realise their ideas, where technicians and teaching assistants are helping the students with their ideas, projects and the equipment, while ensuring that the training is carried out within their education.

Politecnico di Milano, School of Design
Politecnico di Milano, founded in 1883, is a scientific-technological university focusing on the fields of engineering, architecture and design. The School of Design, is the largest international school for educating product, communication, interior and fashion designers. Its research and education includes theories, methods, tools, techniques, poetic and cultures related to design, design process, material artefacts, communication and service. Within the degree programmes, learners are provided with cultural, scientific, methodological and technical-instrumental elements establishing the foundation of design activities in the fashion field. Furthermore, the university aims to combine tradition with innovation, crafts with technologies, and heritage with process. Within its Laboratories System, students, professionals and companies are able to test design hypotheses, and learn how to use the techniques and tools required to the experimentation, representation and communication of design.
